How to choose and customise a Kajabi course theme
Your students spend most of their time inside the course player, not on your sales page. A good product theme makes that time easier and more motivating.
What to look for
Navigation that stays out of the way
Long courses need a menu that is easy to scan. Collapsible sections that open on the current lesson keep students oriented without clutter.
Visible progress
A progress bar, levels or badges give students a reason to keep going. Even a simple percentage complete helps.
A layout that works on phones
Many learners watch on a phone. Check that video, text and buttons are comfortable to use on a small screen.
Branding you control
Colours, fonts and logo should match your site. If you cannot restyle it without code, choose another theme.
Speed
Heavy animations and huge images slow the lessons. Prefer a clean, light theme.
Customise in this order
- Brand basics: logo, colours, fonts
- Course structure: clear module and lesson names
- Thumbnails: consistent size and style
- Welcome and completion messages
- Mobile check: open a lesson on your own phone
Test before you launch
Enrol with a test account and walk through the first three lessons as a student. Look for anything confusing: unclear titles, missing downloads, buttons that are hard to find.
